My family actually has a survival plan just in case of zombies or horrific natural or man-made disaster.

It basically breaks down to this:
Disaster occurs
After ascertaining that you are still alive and your current situation
Depending on location attempt to group with others at Parent's, Grandparent's, or Aunt's and gather supplies at said homes
Procure necessary transportation (walk if you have to)
Proceed to Property in Mayfield, UT (link). Property is stocked with at least 12 weeks of supplies (food, guns, live ordinance (seriously we have a mortar gun and 8 rounds ImagehImage) that is refreshed yearly.
Take supplies to 12 Mile Flat (link) and wait out the disaster.
As needed when initial supplies run out, send excursion to raid Gunnison and Mayfield malls respectively, begin hunting free range cattle and local wild life, fresh water available at Indian Reservoir.
This contingency plan has been in place since the 1980s, and has only been tested once (for Y2K of all things). I'm certain I can survive the coming zombie apocalypse fairly well :rambo:.

A mortar? Awesome!

That's pretty much the most amazing thing I've seen.

I wouldn't advertise that you have a mortar unless it is legally registered since they're NFA.

Well I've been stocking up on brains here just in case... when the zombie apocalypse hits I'll start selling brain smoothies to yuppie zombies for $4 apiece.

IIRC I believe it is registered, seeing as it actually came to us via my grandmother's military career. And even at that if it isn't I'm fairly confident that no one really cares down there (its a benefit to being on a first cousin basis with 98% of the town (that just sounds wrong... Image)).

I'm certain someone knows we have a mortar cannon, the 8 rounds stocked right now aren't the first (and I guarantee not the last) that we've had. If they where that would be both dangerous (we had the cannon since the 70s) and also no fun at all . In true redneck fashion we took it deer hunting once, worked great, minus the complete evaporation of the target deer.

Damn, now I miss my grandfather... passed away a year ago :crying:

Your Grandmother's military career? Who was she, Supergran?!!

Umm, I dunno about the walking bit. What if someone gets bitten by a zombie on the way? You might let them in before they transform! Then you have a zombie with a mortar.

Oh, and what if the zombies have internet access? They'll see your map! :110:

*EDIT*

I just found this. Is this to do with her? ;-)

I have a really big sword, and I have read the Zombie Survival Guide. One of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to evaluate the best way to quickly destroy the staircase in your home. This will be your key to short-term survival when the zombies come. When, not if.

Also, very good idea to fill all available containers with water. Sinks, bathtub, buckets, whatever you have. Fresh water may be hard to find before long.

This is something that people don't always have now, but you should make a point to have a battery and/or crank-powered radio. Justify the purchase by saying its for power outages, but presumably useful for your zombie survival kit as well.

yeah, everyone should read this.

imagine a zombie movie/game where everyone is already prepared. it'd be kinda boring but at least there'd be a lot more survivors.
