Dragon Quest VIII: Sora to Umi to Daichi to Norowareshi Himegimi came out the 27th of November 2004. It took a whole year to arrive US and another half year to arrive Europe.
There's only a mobile port (iOS/Android) and it pretty much suck. No multi-language, vertical screen and Unity3D, classic crappy Square-Enix port. Not as absolutely horrendous as Final Fantasy VI but its bad.
