EDIT: Also, there is an official flash art and - as was pointed out wrongly before - it is for the original Game Boy as well as Game Boy Color. The clear case is actually a case for the same type of game that Robopon usually is: IR-LEDs with a Piezo speaker. You can even see the where the speaker would go in the housing (behind the four holes on the front). The clear case is used by the Japanese game "Pocket Family GB 2", see here (about 3/4 down, bottom right).

hey thanks i just saw that game i will buy that one as well so i have 3 games with similar cases =) i am gonna try go to my cousins between next week and next month hopefully if they are home that is =s

Just to clarify for sure, this Board is definitely a rewritable Flasboard from Nintendo used for testing.
This seems to be the english version of PKMN Gold so this could come from Nintendo America or its the english Euro Version and this came from Nintendo Europe.
It is unlikely that this Version contains a Debug Mode or has differences compared to the japanese Final.
What you propably can find are spelling mistakes in the text if its a earlier Version.
