I just mentioned it becos it was released in 1998 and SEGA peaked after that, no more, no less.

Sega peaked long before the DC. Saying they peaked there would mean they went out on a good note, and we all know that ain't the case.

I meant the quality of their games, but if we're are talking about market dominance then SEGA peaked around 93' during the Genesis's heyday.

I'm talking more about as the quality of a company. Sega had some fantastic games on the DC. Jet Set Radio is my favorite of the generation. However, as a whole, they kind of sucked by the DCs generation. They tried too hard to be different. No RPGs, no shooters, no wonder it tanked.

Sega peaked with the Mega Drive IMO. The Saturn saw some good games but it was the start of the end.

In terms of games, the end of the MD and the Model 2 era in the arcades were pretty much the high point.

Now thats ambiguous, why? becos it was around the time they were market leaders that the chain of command inside the company started making bad decisions.

From the 32X to the early release, bad design and worst US ad campaign for the Saturn, SEGA was truly out-of-control during those years.

On the other hand it seems that by the time of the DC they really became a nice place to work, since there was a lot of creative freedom for the developers.

I say quality becos in those years we had games like Shenmue, JSR, Illbleed, Skies of Arcadia, etc... while today we dont get anything like that.

Therefore IMO SEGA peaked with the DC.
