I have a Wideboy64 AGB Debug and I was wondering what exactly the Z button on the N64 controller does. It appears to sharpen the image on the tv screen after 2 clicks, but what exactly is it doing? Or rather, what was this function used for? Do Gamecube Gameboy players do this as well? Thanks a lot.

Yes the gameboy player do that too,
It's the screen filter you can toggle between sharp, normal and soft
The WideBoy64 CGB have that too but located on L button
I have both the WB64 CGB and GB player
