I found this image over at GBAtemp, and I'm inclined to agree with it.
Anyone want to offer their input on the LoZ timeline?

I know this type of discussion can end up with people flaming each other and arguing about what they believe is correct.. If that happens, feel free to move the topic to the rants and raves section.

Even if initially I didn't trusted it, I have to admit that it is believable (and it comes from the book Hyrule Historia, published -atm- in Japan only, and translated by fans).

What's with the weird crossings out? The first game, the one that introduced us to Link, Ganon and Hyrule, has nothing to do with the Zelda timeline?! Pfft, yeah whatever!

And yes, what about the 3 CD-i games and the Game & Watch? Image heh

AVGN has a good video on this.

It's beyond recognition IMO. They never wanted it to be a timeline.

I've always though that the series is from a childs imagination, all the games are about the same person imagining himself on different quests.

A similar explanation I've heard is that the games are the same myth told from the perspectives of different cultures. That'd at least explain why the same crap happens in every game.

Yeah I always had that though, Chinese Whispers.
