I don't think the games were meant to have a timeline in the first place, but the fans wanted it so bad, that Nintendo finally said here, HAVE SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!
Timeline or not, they're still great games in my opinion, I grew up on Zelda, so it'll always have a place in my heart.
Yeah, they did.. The picture I posted was a translated timeline, but with some edits on the left of it..
