I'd dump so I can analyze it if I knew how, I'm kind of anxious. Darkspire, how would one confirm it's legitimate? I acquired it a number of years ago loosely banging around inside of an nr reader.

well all i did for mine is simpily ask the guy i got it from where they originaly came from. check things like serial numbers, check the serial on the NR reader, id say dump it first, check its data, look for any strings of text giving a build date. id say sell it later once you can verrify it.

Comparison:

the snapshots are 99% in the same place, you can see the boat is exactly matching,
all i can say is the clouds look different and are not in the same place
birds also not appearing at the same place and time

Why wouldn't they use the same font on confidential. I have a soft spot for gamecube demos and demo disks in particular so it would be interesting to see the differences.

Looks a bit too elaborate to be a hack in my opinion. The debug table looks pretty convincing. Having the logo be that gold color looks an odd choice, though.

But yeah, if it's legitimate, you could easily get several thousand for it.

Thanks for sharing the photos.

CONFIDENTIAL seems to use the same font as used in the debug table and commands, which kind of makes sense.

it could be a "behind closed doors" type E3 build.

I can dump the disc and have handled private stuff before. Feel free to contact me if you would like me to dump it for you.

Not interested in holding the data, it's your stuff. People round here should be able to vouch for my integrity in these matters.

Have you tried using other controllers in different ports (different button combos, etc)? If there's a debugger enabled, maybe perhaps the map select is as well? If you can get to the map select, the build date is printed on there.

Nice find, btw. I would definitely get this dumped first, this is an opportunity of a life time. Image
